Is there a way to connect to SPO and respect the SPO row level security?

PowerBI newbie here. I have a SPO site with some lists that have row (item) level security enabled. Only the user that created the item can view or modify it. I would like to build some reports in PowerBI based on these lists, but the reports need to respect the row level security that's already set up in SPO. Is there a way to do this without recreating row level security in PowerBI? I would prefer to not embed the PowerBI report in the SPO site if possible. Thanks!

Hi @AaronRichardson ,

We still need to configure RLS in Power BI. Because the mode that we connect SharePoint online into Power BI is import mode. It just can import data rather than the whole model. The RLS rules in SPO can't restrict users in PBI.

Please reference the document:Row-level security (RLS) with Power BI  to set up RLS in Power BI. And you could submit an idea to get the feature implemented in the future.

Best Regards,
Xue Ding
