Is it normal that Close & Apply calls web services all over again?

I've built a custom data connector that fetches paginated data from an API.
There are queries that have +100 pages, and it takes like 10 minutes to load them into query editor.
After that, when i click Close&Apply, it makes all calls again... is this intended?

Cheers.

Hi CAOP,

It seems that you connect to source to get data, then you could use "transform" to modify the data in powerbi query editor, and when you click the close and apply, it will aplly your transform steps on your source and load this in desktop.

Zoe Zhi

Thank you for answering.
Even though it makes sense, it confuses me a bit, because i have to wait 15 minutes for a query to load into query editor (109 requests for 109 pages of data are made), and then another 15 min to load it into Report Designer, without me doing any transformations.
