I need some info on publishing PBI to SP

Hi,

I'm new to Power BI. Getting my marks on the desktop application, this tool definitely seems to be what I need.

I'm getting data from my sharepoint intranet's lists and displaying them in a more intelligible way for my users.

Now, I'd like to have these power BI views integrated to my Sharepoint site.

I've read a couple solutions on different articles / forums, but most of them are not up to date and present some aspect that won't do for my project.

So, basically my questions are the following :

1 - Can I integrate my power BI charts to SharePoint (they'd be directly displayed, not downloaded by the users) ?

2 - Would the charts automatically update when my users update the SharePoint lists ?

3 - Would my data remain private ?

4 - Would this require some special configuration on the Sharepoint server ?

5 - Is there an additional fee to add such a feature to my web site ? (my client already has Power BI and Sharepoint)

6 - Would you happen to have a link for an up-to-date tutorial to do this ?

Thanks for your insight !

 Hi @DorianF,

Firstly, you can integrate your Power BI charts to SharePoint using Power BI Embedded feature or creating SharePoint Online App/Add-In Part. There are some blogs for your reference.

Secondly, you can schedule refresh for your dataset in Power BI Service, this way, when there are any changes in SharePoint lists, charts will be updated in Power BI Service. However, once you integrate Power BI reports in SharePoint, the reports in SharePoint will not be updated automatically because Power BI embedded doesn’t support refresh for import mode dataset. I am afraid  that you have to refresh the PBIX file manually and re-import each time you have updated data at the current time. Or you can utilize Azure database as described in the above blog to achieve automatic refresh.

Thirdly, your data are secured and  private.

In addition, you may need to pay for Azure features used in the above blogs.

Thanks,
