How to use Row-Security with SharePoint Online ? (refresh of SharePoint Online list) ?

Hi everyone!

I'm new in PowerBI.

What i want to do i use a list where items are created by different users. I would like to show only the ones the users created.

I did that using PowerBI Desktop and as a source the SharePoint List. I applied the necessary roles and it worked.

But now i have a new issue. The list won't refresh since is part of the PowerBI file. Is there a way to have both functionalities ? Row-level security with refresh on SharePoint Online lists?

Thanks a lot!

Hi @shak,

After you publish the report to service, you need to go to the Dataset Settings. As it's SharePoint online list data source, it doesn't require any gateway. You can just edit credential for the data source. To refresh the dataset, you can click the Refresh Now or Schedule Refresh.

Once you publish it to the Service, you should be able to configure a scheduled refresh for your dataset so that your Power BI data will refresh from your SharePoint Online list data.
