How to Sort by specific column in a matrix

Hi,

I am trying to find a solution to sort a matrix by the latest reporting period. The only thing I seem to be able to sort on is the total. (Visual Below)

My matrix consists of:

Columns: Reporting period

Rows: Vendor

Value: Count of PO

Do I need to create a custom column in Power Query to do this?

Thanks!

Jordan

Hi @jlkrawcyk - you cannot sort a Matrix by a specific column when that column is a value from a DIM table, like the month end, quarter, or year. You can only sort by a specifc column if you have nothing in the Column field, but instead have multiple measures in the Values field as shown below. If you have Dimensions in the column field if the matrix, then you can only sort by the total of the measure, not by specific periods or other sub-groupings of that measure.

Hi @jlkrawcyk ,

As @edhans said, sorting by a specified column in a matrix is unavailable.
