How do I write a poer query that connects to a power pivot data model

I know how to connect to an excel table, and I know I can import a power pivot data model into Power BI Desktop, but I can't figure out how to write a Power Query that connects directly to a Power Pivot data model (either in my current workook or in another workbook).

I am not aware of a way to do that. My guess would be "by writing a new power query data source type that uses the new Office 2016 API"
