Handling heavy measures using Excel as client

Hi all,

I have really heavy measure with nested iteratorts in. Its succesful work totaly depends on amount of data needed to be proccesed. Small data - great, quick work! More serious size (increased data range) - Excel (which we are using for spinning data) falls at all with out of memory error. Excel is connecting to report in particular workspace of Power BI Service.

I understand, that the possible option is optimization of measure's performance...

I am not yet pro in DAX quering honestly, that's why I'm trying to find the solution by deploying current model on SSAS (on-premises).

Can it give me any positive results?

Or speed of processing depends on RAM of laptop where Excel is running?

I suppose, that all calculation of measures take place on server side, then why we get out of memory on our client side?

Thanks in advance

Hi @Anonymous

Do you connect to an excel file with Power BI Service which excel connects to a data source in SSAS (on-premises)?

Best Regards

Maggie
