Exchange with PowerBI

Hello Everyone,

I recently had a requirement to create a dashboard for Exchange in our organisation. When I tried connecting exchange online through PowerBI, I am being connected to my own mailbox. The requirement is to get reports for whole organisation. I got to know that Exchange server doesn't have SQL database or any APIs to get data from.

Requirement could be getting server availability/performance, usage of mailbox, etc.

Kindly assist.

Thanks and Regards,

For Office 365 activity usage reports, try the second half of the instructions in the post here:

For Exchange Admin Center data (mailbox lists etc) try importaing via the new REST API by just adding the following to Power Query / Power BI as an OData Feed:[Azure Active Directory Tenant ID]/

(Where [Azure Active Directory Tenant ID] is in XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX format and found via

NB This is marked as 'beta' so be warned about relying on this long-term.

The Exchange connector in Power BI only show you a list of items(Mail, Calendar, People, Tasks and Meeting Requests) available in the Exchange account you have entered. It is not possible to use the Exchange connector to  analyze the server availability/performance, usage of mailbox, etc.

If you are using exchange online, you can connect to Office 365 adoption content pack , which provides you exchange usage report.

If you are using on-premises exchange, please vote up this idea.
