I work for a MNC, the office is 32 bit.
I have installed PowerBI 64 bit because I read it is better for performance.
I have installed 32bit Access Database Engine, because an error appears when installing 64 bit version.
Then I open PowerBI to import an XLS file and i get this error:
Details: "Excel Workbook: The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine. The 64-bit version of the Access Database Engine 2010 Access Database Engine OLEDB provider is required to connect to read this type of file. To download the client software, visit the following site: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=285987."
This is a very annoying error that happens all the time - here's how you fix it. You are going to install the 64 bit version - here's how.
Open the command prompt, navigate to the directory where the driver exists, and type the name of the driver followed by the command /passive ... this will allow you to install the 64 bit driver alongside the 32 bit driver.
