I am seeing an erratic behaviour of the data gateway personal mode installed version July 2017.
We do not turn off the server at any point in time, still we have errors saying Personal gateway is offline.
FOr few days it works perfectly then gives error for 2 days and gets back to normalcy.

Have you tried updating the gateway to the latest version? I know there have been quite a few changes in the August Update.

I am using the version which was announced as change to ON-Premises Gateway(personal) before 31 jul 2017.
I will have to go to clients place to check the version in use. I will check and if required update to the august update and monitor.

If its at a client site, it might be worth while checking the infrastructure too. The server might be up and running, but if the internet goes down for any reason this could be your issue. Also consider if there are other bandwidth clogging activities sheduled at the same time which could be enough to slow the connection to a timeout.
