DataFormat Error

Hi,

I am using API as data source. I am connecting to it using authorization/ without authorization. In the data, I have a text column which has data in json format. When I parse that text data to json, it gives me the error "DataFormat Error: We reached the end of the buffer"".

This happens when the text formatted columns are changed to date/ numer format and at the refresh time.

Solutions that already tried,

  1. I have installed the latest version of PowerBI.
  2. Clear the cache data and reinstall power bi. Also, I reduced the columns. But nothing worked.

I have attached screenshot of error and the steps I did for transformation.

Hi @Rohana ,

Noticed that you have used Pivot column feature in Power Query. If you delete this step, could you get the data normally? Someytimes not enough memory would cause this issue when using pivot columns.

In addition, you can check the file size:

  1. If the error occurs when you try to import data from multiple files simultaneously then it can be due to issues with the File Size.
  2. Check the json file size to make sure it is not related to your file size.

Or:

  1. producing compact output JSON
  2. explicitly processing only the first line of JSON

Refer similar threads:

  1. We reached end of buffer Error
  2. Consume Flask-generated JSON in Excel PowerQuery
