Data update - Public Link

Hi 🙂

I have some dashboards in Power BI and I share them in a Public Link with investors and others employees, cause this way is easier and they don't have to log in to see the reports.

But the last times, doesn't matter how many times I update the data, the public link's data doesn't change. Them I need to save a copy in another file and make another link to access.

How can I fix this?

It can take some time for the public report to change, I have seen it take up to an hour or so but eventually it always seems to change. I believe this is due to some caching going on.

Hi @carlakarolyne,

In Power BI Service, when we create an embed code use "Publish to web" feature, then view the report either by opening the direct public URL or viewing it embedded in a web page or blog, Power BI caches the report definition and the results of the queries required to view the report.

The cache is long-lived, so it will take approximately 1 hour for refreshed data to be visible from embed codes. For more information, please refer to this article: Publish from Power BI to the web.
