Connecting with organizational data, Using existing roles and permissions of users to view data

Hi,

I am trying to connect my organization data with Power BI and leverage the existing permissions set in my system. Is it possible to restrict the view of dashboards and reports specific to the user based on their roles?

Will embedding solve my issue? If not, what could be a possible solution?

Note: I am not talking about RLS.

Thanks

KD

@K_D_1993,

What system do you use? It is not possible to restrict the view of dashboard and reports based on user's existing permissions unless you are using SSAS. Power BI can't inherit the exsiting permissions of your system, you would need to define RLS in your dataset.

However, if you are using ssas, please review the following article about dynamic row level security with Analysis services tabular model.
