Connect to local MySQL database

Hi everyone, I hope someone can help me out. I'm having a hard time 😞

I'm trying to connect Power BI to a local MySQL server but get the following error:

I've tried using the following options for Server:

  • localhost / localhost:3306
  • 127.0.0.1 / 127.0.0.1:3306
  • Host name below / with 3306

I think my connector is up-to-date, and I'm using database (not windows) credentials.

Please help 🙂

Hi HotChilli,

That worked for me too - thank you!

Hey I'm having the same problem as you, but can't figure things out. So all you did was uninstalling the newer version and installing the older one, then type in localhost, data name and it worked?
