OK, I have loaded up an Excel file that I have been working on and all my data sources work for scheduled updates, File, SharePoint Online, CRM Online, but when I try to set the credentials for an on-premise SharePoint list with Windows auth, it fails. I am logged on to my domain account and that domain account has access to the SharePoint list. It never prompts me for credentials and my Windows account does work for updating from Excel to that on-prem SharePoint list.
Is this a known issue or not?

I have the same issue. What happens in my case is that Power BI has no problem connecting via Power BI Desktop. However when I publish it to Power BI, the credentials are invalid apparently. So I tried updating them a million times but without success. I read something about an IT admin having to enable cloud access for Sharepoint Online. But isn't that what the Data Management Gateway is for??
I have tested this on a domain-connected PC and a non-domain connected PC and neither works with Windows authentication. Could it be an issue that I have SharePoint Online data sources and local SharePoint data sources?
In addition, Power BI seems to "forget" my SharePoint Online credentials after/during each automatic refresh and I have to re-enter them every time.
Would like to see some confirmation of this but my testing appears to indicate that mixing SharePoint Online and SharePoint On-Prem is not currently working in Power BI 2.0.
See above but I took my local SharePoint list and moved it to SharePoint Online. Now everything refreshes correctly and SharePoint Online credentials do not see to get "lost" after/during a refresh attempt. (OAuth 2)
Seems like a bug.
Not sure if my Windows credentials not working against the local SharePoint site was related to this or not.
Still having this issue. If I enter my credentials and do a "refresh now", seems to work, but if I refresh the page, it loses its mind and says I have invalid credentials. Here is the automatic email message I get back (below). Does this have anything to do with the fact that when I enter my credentials it makes me pick between a "Work" account and "Microsoft" account? Come-on guys, this sort of simple stuff should work in production.
[Permission Error] The credentials provided for the SharePoint source are invalid. (Source at https://quicksolutions1.sharepoint.com/sites/qsipmo/resources.)
