Connect LiveQuery data with an local Excel file (import)

Hello togehter,

I want to get some data from a SQL server with LiveQuery. These datasets I want to connect with a local Excel file on my laptop. This file has some master data which are not on the SQL server and which I need for some filters.

Now the problem:

If I choose the data from the server with LiveQuery it´s not a problem. After that I want to upload the Excel file and then the program says that it isn´t possible or I have to change the data from the SQL server to "import" and not LiveQuery. But that means I can only set up the time to refresh the data and that only works when the laptop is connected with the internet and is turned on.

Is there a way to say that the Excel file is on the mode "import" and the data from the server on "LiveQuery" in one Power BI data?

Thanks and have a great day

@Anonymous You can't mix connection types. When you use Direct Query, you have to pull all the data the same way. So you could add the Excel file as a table in the SQL database.

Or.

If you want to import all the data and not use Direct Query you could set up an On Premises Data Gateway on a server that is running all the time. Then create a data source on the gateway in the Service, and schedule refresh.
