Choosing a JIRA board

Hi all,

I've managed to connected our cloud-based JIRA solution with Power BI; it looks great and I'm looking forward to playing with it some more.

I was hoping for some advice on what I'm guessing is a pretty basic action - how do I change which JIRA board is being displayed in my data? Is it a case of using a different URL? I've tried to connnect using the URL from my own team's board but it seems to be defaulting to a different (now defunct) team's board.

Many thanks,

Sam

@Locken,

You can connect to Power BI Desktop Template file of JIRA in Power BI Desktop, and specify a different JIRA URL, then check if you get expected result.

@v-yuezhe-msft,

Thanks very much. Unfortunately it's throwing an Apply Query Changes error when I attempt to set the URL:

"OLE DB or ODBC error: [DataFormat.Error] We found extra characters at the end of JSON input.."

Any advice on how to move forward with this?

Many thanks,

Sam

@Locken,

What is the result when you enter the URL in browser?

@v-yuezhe-msft Just realised you might mean Power BI Web, if I enter the URL into there it simply defaults to a different team's board.

Apologies for the double post.

@Locken,

I guess that you connect to a wrong URL in Power BI Desktop, please review the following similar thread about connecting to JIRA in Power BI Desktop.

@v-yuezhe-msft I get taken directly to my team's board in browser 🙂
