Cascading Parameters in Power BI Custom Connectors

Hello everyone,

I have just started digging into building a Power BI custom connector using Power Query SDK. I have found some samples on GitHub and got a basic idea of how I can create one.

Now, I am facing one issue where I need to implement the cascaded parameters where I want my end users to select entity type first, and then based on the selected type I want them to select one entity.

What I'm planning is, I want to provide two dropdowns to the end-users - one for Entity Type and another for Entities of the selected Entity Type.

Can anyone help me out with this?

Thank you in advance.

Hi @v-kelly-msft,

Thanks for your help. But I'm sorry this is not something that I am looking for. I'm looking for making parameters cascaded just like we do in web applications for state and city dropdown.

Hi  @Anonymous,

Does my suggestion help?Is your issue solved now?

Best Regards,
Kelly

Hi @v-kelly-msft

I'm sorry but I'm looking for creating cascaded parameters in the custom connector, not in the Power BI paginated reports.

Thanks for the follow-up on this
