Calculate New Starts and Leavers

Hi,

I am new to Power BI and i am having some difficulty calculating New Starts and Leavers in my dashboard.

I have a Date table which has columns Date, Month Year etc. This is used as a slicer to run the report on the chosen month.

I have table B which has columns Emp ID, Start Date, End Date, Gender etc

I would like to calculate new starts by gender by chosen month and calculate leavers by gender by chosen month. Both these to show in a pie chart.

Thanks in advance

Yasir

Connect your dates table to your fact dates but make the connections inactive.  Then create separate measures with USERELATIONSHIP(), one for the starters and one for the leavers.

(Optionally you could leave one relationship active, but you get the idea)

Sorry, still getting to grips with DAX. Can you please give an example of what the measure would look like?
