Hi there!
I'm hoping to blend data from Insightly's Organizations and Opportunities modules and was wondering how to do it?
Basically, because we're in a weird, regulated industry (we're a distillery and sell whiskey), we close Opportunities with the name format Account Name - Product - Close Date, meaning that each month, an Organization's Opportunity will differ.
What we'd like to do is figure out a way to combine all Opportunities with identical Account Name - Product to be grouped together for purposes of seeing aggregate amounts they've bought over the months.
For example, Ammazza - ASW - March 2016 should be combined with Ammazza - ASW - October 2015 for the purposes of showing aggregate deal value ordered by Ammazza over time.
The easiest way to do this is using Insightly's own Linked Organisation field that resides on each Opportunity. So the same Ammazza - ASW - March 2016 and Ammazza - ASW - October 2015 records have the same "parent" Linked Organisation. But this Linked Organisation field doesn't show up as a value you can report on in Microsoft BI.
Thank you for any tips or guidance!
Chad
Did you get a result with this?
I've been trying to do the same thing; running reports that sort Insightly's data (primarily # opportunities and opportunity value) by linked organisation for date ranges.
Otherwise I have to default to Insightly's reporting which isn't very flexible or user friendly...
why don't you split the data into below format and do your aggregation?
Opportunities.1Opportunities.2Opportunities.3
Ammazza | ASW | 3/1/2016 |
Ammazza | ASW | 10/1/2015 |
Ammazza | ASW | 1/1/2016 |
OR can you post some sample data and desired output you are looking?
so it will be easy to help you 🙂
