Hi everyone,
I have two Matrix visuals in which I want to add the total of one to the other and call it EUR-YTD:
The data looks like this:
FactTable
MainAccountKey | CurrencyKey | AccountingCurrency | TransactionCurrency |
11 | 15 | 2250 | 2260 |
11 | 15 | 4456 | 4470 |
13 | 17 | 8888 | 9000 |
13 | 18 | 10000 | 12000 |
DimCurrency
CurrencyKey | Currency |
15 | EUR |
16 | USD |
18 | NZD |
DimMainAccount
11 | 44550 |
12 | 00112 |
13 | 00223 |
14 | 00654 |
The Dim Tables have a one to many relationship with the Fact Table.
The mainaccounts are the same in both visuals, so I only need the totals of 'AccountingCurrency' to be a seperate column with currencyname 'EUR-YTD' to be added to the 'TransActionCurrency' for each mainaccount.
Is this possible to do with DAX or PowerQuery?
Thanks!
Hi @bunyamin360 ,
Are the names of these two columns 11 and 44550?
Then what is the expected result from your sample data?
Best Regards,
Stephen Tao

@bunyamin360 In DAX you would use a technique similar to that for returning the correct total for a measure. This looks like a measure totals problem. Very common. See my post about it here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/DAX-Commands-and-Tips/Dealing-with-Measure-Totals/td-p/63376
Also, this Quick Measure, Measure Totals, The Final Word should get you what you need:
