APPEND USING M LANGUAGE IN ADVANCED EDITOR

I have 5 xlsx files with exact same headers but data is for different locations.  How do I append these files in one step directly using Advanced Editor.  i want to minimize the number of queries built in my file also using combine and edit in power creates other problems with my data that i am not knowledgable enough to overcome.  I have found a method in past to name multiple sources and append, but i can no longer find the resource online.

Hi @KDEWALT ,

You can use Table.Combine function to append queries. In the function, add as many tables as you want.

If you want to get a new table, create a new query like this:

let
    Source = Table.Combine({Table, #"Table (2)", #"Table (3)", #"Table (4)", #"Table (5)"})
in
    Source

If you want to add all other tables to one of the table for example the first table, add a step in the first table:

#"Appended Query" = Table.Combine({#"Changed Type", #"Table (2)",#"Table (3)",#"Table (4)",#"Table (5)"})
