New Ranks Launched March 24th!

The time has come: We are finally able to share more details on the brand-new ranks coming to the Power BI Community! Just as we hadn’t touched our badges since opening the Power BI Community to all of you, our Community Ranks were in need of a major overhaul. Many Community members had already reached the top ranks, not having any further opportunity for climbing up the rank ladder. We want you to enjoy participating in the Community, and that includes being able to display your dedication and to give you something to aspire to. It was time for a change!

Instead of simply adding more top ranks, we decided to come up with a completely new system that includes specific activity-based ranks, new names, AND new icons to go with the ranks. While some of the rank categories focus on a particular activity, unlike badges, more than the count for an activity is needed to increase one’s rank.

You’ll always be awarded the highest rank that you qualify for, regardless of in which category you have already earned a rank, and you can move between categories. For example, you could start out with an Advocate rank, then move to a Solutions or Posts rank, then back to an Advocate rank or up to the next Kudo rank. As the name suggests, requirements for Combo ranks are even more complex than the other ranks and involve activity in all categories. The exact formulas and criteria remain our little secret to keep things exciting. 😉

We hope you have just as much fun seeing where you rank and unlocking new ranks as we had coming up with the new names.
