Unable to Login Report Server Folders

Hi,

We have an issue where we are trying to user powerBI mobile application with our report server

when we try to login to http://reportserver/Reports/ it will access and reports will show correctly,

However most of  our user don't have access to the root directory and only allowed to access some certain folders.

And when we try to enter the url http://reportserver/Reports/browse/Folder1 and try to access it will fail to authenticate the user and will not allow him to access.

is there anyway we could use powerBI app to access Folders in the Report Server?

Hey melhem,

The mobile app needs access to the root directory for authentication and discovery. Therefore all users that need access to the Report Server from the mobile app should have permissions to the root (permission level should be at least “browse”).

In order to enforce permissions on specific folders, you will need to override the default inherited permissions, and remove the access rights to those folders you don’t want to share.
