How to create a separate filter pane in Mobile app

Hi All,

I am working on a report where it also needs to be accessed via Mobile. I have 4 to 5 slicers, how do I create a filter pane that it can be hidden once applied. I see we dont have control over show/hide in Power BI Mobile layout design.

Any suggestions how do I create the pane and still have good space for the rest of the report.

Thank you @v-jingzhang. Even if I reduce the size of all the slicers to a format that it is readable as well it still eats up space.

I have learnt the hard way, bookmarks created in desktop can be utilized in Mobile also.

However they cant be tested in Mobile while developing. It needs to be published to see them in effect.

I have to add some slicers in a Power BI Mobile view report, from where I can add filters. Filters pane is not accessable in Mobile view.

Hi @sabarwal_priya ,

The filter pane is not available in the mobile authoring from the desktop as you can’t add mobile specific filters.

The mobile layout will have the same filters set in the desktop layout.

They can be used in the mobile app when viewing the report, you can open the filters from the footer or from the visual header.

You read on how to filter the report in the app here:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/consumer/mobile/mobile-apps-view-phone-report#filter-the-...

Thanks,

Michal

Hi @raimon

Can you please elaborate why you can’t test the bookmarks in the Mobile layout?

It is true that the mobile layout in desktop is not clickable, but you still can test your bookmarks using the bookmark pane that is available when you are in the mobile layout as you can see in my example:

Thanks,

Hi @michalfoster,

Sorry my bad, by testing I meant Ctrl+Click as it can be done in desktop layout. Yes it is doable through the bookmarks pane.

Hi @raimon

You may switch the slicer to Dropdown mode and reduce its size in Mobile layout view. This could occupy less space.
