Custom UI to run Mobile reports

To overcome an absence of report parameters I could embed the report into an html page.

Why not using a slicer that will filter the report based on room number?

Really? Let me make it a bit harder. A data preparation for one room takes about 3-5 secs. Not bad if you send a parameter to the backend to get data for a single room. But pulling data for whole hotel?

Bottom line: Without parameters it is  a totaly useless toy.

Where is this data coming from and why is your processing so slow? Why can't you load it in to power BI and process it there or pre-process it in your data warehouse?

 Also, ther are many, many reasons to use parameters, performance is just one.

Currently we can't custom the it's only supported to populate a parameter dataset into a selection list, and use it as a slicer in Reporting Services Mobile Reports. If you have a large amount of data for each category, you should seperate into different reports.

How about a fact that normally users get data filtered on their permissions (roles, security, profiles, accounts, .........) . All of this takes place on the server. What's your advise for that?

The user permission for data access should be controlled by Row Level Security.
