scatter plot with date on the x-axis

I found a post with essentially the same issue as I have.

However there is no solution, and those workarounds aren't working for me.  

I basically have a scatter plot with time in the x-axis and average price in the y-axis.  

The time axis is shown as categorical, and cannot be changed to continuous.  
If I use different visualizations the axis works fine, but not in the scatter plot visual.  

This seems to me more like a bug or feature request, than a how-to.  But perhaps someone has an actual fix for this.

Hi,

you have to change the type of column to Date type. by using modeling tab on the top.
