I just tested it for the stacked bar chart, but if you want to base the font color of values (Data labels or Total values), it will not work as expected. Neither by using a hardcoded rule nor by using a function that returns a color or hex-value. ... View more

I can refresh my Power BI desktop but not for dataset in Power BI service. We could change the Privacy Level in Power BI Desktop: Global setting + Current File setting, such that it was not ignoring the privacy of data. We re-published the file to Power BI Service, updated the credentials to ‘Organizational’ in Power BI Service, and the issue was resolved.

Drill thru to transaction level in Analyze in Excel ?  Can you explain it in detail ? Because Direct Queries doesn't support all Power Query transformations. It may be possible that your operation is not supported by DQ mode, so this error will be returned.

Hi Power BI community,   I am trying to implement parameter binding via a slicer selection / URL query parameter filtering to filter what is returned from SQL. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-dynamic-m-query-parameters  I have the following question, on a new Power BI report, I can see the following option to bind parameter:   But on my existing report, I couldn't see the option, everytime I select a column it just shows me something like this, as if the column is not detected:   I have checked the settings, and they look identical. May I know whether you edit the M query in your existing report to make it reference the parameter you created?  As a prerequisite for this feature, you must have a valid M Query Parameter created and referred in one or more Direct Query tables.

And you need to click on specific fields to see its properties that contains Bind to parameter but not the following screenshot which the Properties pane when no tables or fields are selected. If you see it when you click on specific table or field, please make it proper by switching between fields or reopen your report later.

Permissions in PowerBI

All my permisions work besides one person on on dashboard. I have unshared and reshared it with them many times now, and it never resolves the issue. He can see all other apps fine, but just this one will never show up for him. When I reshare it with him he can see it from that link but if he refreshes or comes back he has to request access again. ... View more

There are a few errors in the Hungarian translation of Power BI desktop!   1. When creating relationships between tables,  "Bal külső"  appears twice! "Left Outer" --> "Bal külső..." <-- this is correct "Right Outer" --> "Jobb külső..."  <-- this is the fault!   2. On the Add Column tab, instead of "Szövegfájlból" , the phrase "Szövegből" (From a text) should be used!   How could these errors be corrected?   Thanks  Zsédely Gábor ... Power BI Drill through is not working for paginated report for same embedded token and embedded url

Hi    We have build power Bi report in that we are using paginated report visual.  So we have configure drill through from Parent Page to paginated page and all are in the same pbix file.   When we are using Liferay and calling Power BI Drill through it is not working for paginated report for same embedded token and embedded url for parent report. We are using Rest API java script.   It is saying access denied for paginated report from web browser. When you are working in Report Builder, you must be connected to a report server to view the drillthrough report that opens when you click the drillthrough link in the main report.

You can create the drillthrough action in the main report as a report action or a URL action. For a report action, the drillthrough report must exist on the same report server as the main report. For a URL action, the report must exist at the fully qualified URL location. The way that you specify a report might differ for a report server or a SharePoint site that is integrated with a report server. If the report server is configured in SharePoint integrated mode, only URL actions are supported.

Theoretically, if an account is given access rights to two tenants, it is possible to select dataflows of different tenants to merge when creating a dataflow, but I have tested it, and I can't select dataflows of two different tenants. of. You can post your thoughts on the Ideas forum.

According to the reply from the product group, this issue is caused by design. Users of Power BI published to web reports are not authenticated, which is required to run the flow. They will updated documentation for this unsupported scenario.

Is your issue that you can see the hidden visual Filters on Filters pane in Power BI Desktop but not in Power BI service?

It’s by design that you the author/editor can see the hidden filters on Filters pane in Power BI Desktop/Power BI service. But for report viewers in Power BI service, they couldn’t see the hidden items.

I cannot find that table in my DataVerse sso I cannot tell what is being duplicated... You created the report in Desktop ? If you refresh your report in Desktop , is there an error ? Do you connect other data sources in your report, and then duplicate values appear in other data sources ?

Bonjour.   Dans PBI Desktop : J'ouvre Power Query (Transformer les données) A partir d'une requête vide, je crée une fonction qui génère une table selon des contraintes passées en paramètres j'appelle la fonction qui crée la table sans problème Lorsque je clique sur "Appliquer" ou "Fermer et appliquer", j'obtiens le message suivant : Échec de l'enregistrement des modifications sur le serveur. Erreur retournée : « Erreur OLE DB ou ODBC: [Expression.Error] Désolé... Nous n'avons pas pu convertir la valeur null en type Table.. ». J'ai tenté avec une table plus simple, et obtenu le même résultat. Seems like the part of your sample query works fine and can load corresponding data in Power BI Desktop when I test it in my side.

Whether this issue could be caused by the parameter you have used which would have the null type and cannot be converted to table as the error message mentioned. You can consider sharing more details about the parameters in this query.

Power BI Authentication Needed

It is wonderful that we can now import links to Power BI data into Power Point. However when I open my Power Point presentation in the SharePoint Browser version I get a popup once I get to the slide that has the Power BI visual embeded in it that states, "Power BI authentication needed", "It looks like opups are blocked. Please click OK to open the quthentication window." Once may be fine for this to popup but it happens every time I return to this slide.  I tried turning off the 'Popup Blocker' for the MS Edge, that didn't work.  How do get this to go away and just have my embeded data show up? ... To use the Power BI add-in for PowerPoint, users must either have access to the Office add-in store, or the add-in must be made available to them as an admin managed add-in.

 

To be able to view live Power BI data in PowerPoint, users must have an active Power BI account and a Power BI Free license, as well as access to the data. If the Power BI report is not located in a Premium capacity, a Power BI Pro license is needed.

If auto-licensing for Power BI is enabled, users without a Power BI account will be signed up automatically when they open a presentation containing a live Power BI report page. This may impact the assignment and availability of licenses in your organization. See Power BI license assignment for more information.

If auto-licensing is not enabled, users without Power BI accounts will be requested to sign up.

  We are facing below error(please find the attached screen snippet) while trying to send an email with Report in Excel format to User who ever click the Power Automate button, we are able to get this flow successful when we type the static email id in the "To" list, But our requirement is when the user clicks the Run Flow button in Report layout it should generate the report in Excel format to One Drive and share it by email to user.    Error: The 'inputs.parameters' of workflow operation 'Send_an_email_(V2)' of type 'OpenApiConnection' is not valid. I’ve done a simple test on this kind of flow per your description, it works well in Power BI Desktop and Power BI service.

For this issue is related to Power Automate flow couldn’t convert the user mail in Send to, I would suggest you submitting your problems there and search for solutions there.

Similar issue has been submited previously(ICM: 317393842), if you are not the creator of the report, please contact the creator to check that whether this report has been set correct Row-level-security role in Power BI Desktop and apply it correctly in Power BI Service.

Hello, I have an issue where I have scheduled refreshes of my metrics that have been built over a datamart aren't updating with the latest value. If I look at my metrics I can see: Yet when I click through to the conencted report I can see the following for the same metric:       The underlying data set for the metrics is refreshing every half hour, so I would have expected these to be in sync:   Not sure why this isn't updating. Based on my research, It can take up to 24 hours for data to update.

I have a problem with trying to use https://www.npmjs.com/package/powerbi-client-react - pocket. We use power bi integration with iframe in our project, by using embedUrl. But now we need to use this package, and here I meet some problem. I try to install the package then, and then use the PowerBIEmbed component with all default params as in the example, by using our data: 1. id - an id which I copy from a part of URL - reportId = .... 2. embedUrl: the same embed URL as we use for an iframe usage. 3. accessToken: - for a test, I just used a copy command in the console, to copy an AccessToken which should be able for usage about 1 hour But when I run a project - a don't get a report Maybe I use something wrong?
