When conducting scheduled refresh of datasets using the Power BI vNet Gateway we are seeing intermittent refresh failures with the following error message: {"error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_UnknownError","pbi.error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_UnknownError","parameters":{},"details":[]}}} Table: <TableName> All network connectivity tests, conducted via the Power BI Service for the vNet gateway, pass The datasets can be successfully refreshed when triggered manually from the Power BI Service At most, only 3 datasets are refreshing simultaneously against a single datasource Datasets are relatively small (>= 50MB <= 2GB) All datasets use Synapse Analytics SQL Serverless datasource All datasets would refresh succsessfully (on schedule) prior to moving to the vNet gateway Please advise.

Hi There I have avro format files which are getting landed in Azure container. I want to upload and read them through Power BI. I would need a guidance how to read these files. Please advice. If Power BI does not support what would be the best option as alternative. Thanks & Regards Fareed

My Power BI file has 23 pages of visuals and those on pages 6-23 suddenly became blank except for the title. I've tried closing and reopening the file, and also rebooting my laptop. My back-up copy is also similarly affected. I'm using Version: 2.111.590.0 64-bit (November 2022). I installed the October 2022 version thinking the issue was connected with the November upgrade but no change in results. No issues occur when refreshing the source files, and no error messages are present. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated.

We have a development, test, and production pipeline. Datamart contains linked dataflows. When deploying datamart from development to test, the deployment complete successfully. Datamart deployment only fails when pushing from test to production. Reports having composite model do not open with PowerBI Desktop October and November (2.111.590.0 64-bit) releases. Same reports open with earlier versions (e.g. September). Symptoms: Opening report just hangs presenting the startup screen. No error messages. Currently experimenting with November release and opening has been continuing for about 1 hour now. Windows task manager shows 0% CPU (for PowerBI) and 12-13% for Microsoft Analysis Services. The same reports work still in PowerBI Pro and Premium capacity (as an app) - and with September version of Desktop. Reports having this issue are using composite model (storage mode: Mixed): 1. direct connection to SQL Server Analysis Services database (PowerBI datamodel) 2. import of local files 3. import using DAX query from the same SQL Server Analysis Services database having the direct connection (to create couple of needed code tables). 4. added local columns on a table using direct connection 5. measures both in corporate model and local model Note: depending on the report it may use 1&2&5 or 1&4&5 or 1&2&3&5. Creating a new report from scratch using composite model works and so do old reports using either import or live connection to the same SQL Server Analysis Services database described above. What I have done to solve the problem: 1. Removed and reinstalled different versions of PowerBI desktop 2. Tested with and without Webview2 (with October PowerBI desktop) 3. Tested by waiting long time (hour?) for a report to open. 4. Downloaded PowerBI desktop report file from Premium (guessing that file might be "rebuild" during the process) 5. Only solution is to uninstall new PowerBI desktop version (October or November) and install old version (September). Based on this problem is not on my environment but on PowerBI desktop version. Similar issue has been reported 6.11.2022 (11/6/2022) by @ANTOS post Issues with latest release of Power BI (October 2022 Update (2.110. 341.0))

I try to save and get the following message: File save failed, possibly due to a transient issue with the network connectivity or sign-in state. Try saving again. If the problem persists, try signing in again or contact support. Troubleshooting so far 1) I confirmed that I'm signed in. 1.a When I try to sign out, I get the following warning: Save your work? The file you're editing is protected by your org's information protection policy. Before signing out, you should save your work. Otherwise, some of your changes may be lost. 1.b I click on Save. Then get the message I posted at the top. Note/personal opinion: This loop is a suboptimal user experience. 2) My network is good, I'm even signed into my companies vpn. I can close down PowerBI...but this is a bug, I hope this gets fixed. Hello Community, I used a too heavy merge operation in Power Query Editor, which crashed both - Power Query and Power BI Desktop (Store Version). Now everything, which should be typically in Power BI Yellow, is petrol/ green. I already de-installed Power BI Desktop (Store Version) and deleted every File in Windows Folder and Regedit. I also already installed the "Install-Version" of Power BI Desktop as a seperate Version. But it changed nothing. I have two assumptions: 1) Power BI Desktop got into any kind of "safe mode" such as Windows itself?! 2) Windows (so outside the Power BI System) turned off or reduced some graphic settings especially for Power BI ?! Everything else still works fine. See screens below - obviously, I use Power BI in German 😉 I hope anybody can help me "recover" the original Power BI System Colors!

I see power bi dataset supports UPN. I am looking for a way to expose datamart as API (readonly) I couldnt find any relavent documents around it. is it possible to access data mart using AAD or SPN? any document or wiki around it would help.

Hi All, We have a model where we connect Dimension table (with RLS) with FACT as below. 1) "Dimension Key" to "Fact Current Key" -- Active 2) "Dimension Key" to "Fact Historical Key" -- Inactive To manage the switch of relations we use "USERELATIONSHIP" but this is not deactivating the existing relation as we use RLS. Can you please guide appropriate alternative for this issue. Note : We are trying to avoid duplicate dimensions for each relation.

We are using a UWP to embed the PowerBI reports for signage purposes, but the UWP is tied to the Edge Legacy Browser, so the following popup from PowerBI will always prompt the user to upgrade. Is there a setting on the PowerBI or piece of code in the powerbi-client JS library that can disable or hide the Popup?
