Case 1 When no selections are made - All values are displayed Case 2 When ’Select All’ option has been selected - All values are displayed Case 3 When each category is individually unselected. The ’Select All’ appears to highlighted with a square Case 4 Even when one category has been selected. The ‘Select All’ appears to be highlighted like Case 3 Case 3 and 4 create confusion to the end users if the values have been selected or not. Is there a better way to display "Select All" to differentiate when values have selected and not selected ?

Hi! We have encountered a problem in powerbi service where the last refreshed time shows succesfull but when opening refresh history there can be up to 4 failed refrehes under it. So the dataset shows succesfull at Monday 1pm but in reality the dataset refresh has an error for the last 3 refreshes including Monday 1pm. I think this is a bug. This has been happening at least a week.

Hello, It was recently noticed that the Report folder in Admin Monitoring Workspace - Feature Usage and Adoption report has been removed from the dataset. I am now unable to obtain the report details. Could you kindly confirm whether the same may be restored, and if so, how the report folder be added? Missing Folder in Feature Usage and Adoption report dataset.

I was meeting at a co-workers desk, and wanted to show her our financials from my profile. We logged her out, and I logged in. Showed her the report from my profile, then went to log out, and 'forget' my profile. She went back into her own 365 profile, and we noticed that the Financial Statement had appeared in her 'shared with me' folder of reports. While RLS prevented her from seeing any figures, this concerns me. About a year or two ago, I ran into a very similar issue when logging in and out of accounts quickly. The issue that time had permanatly shared the cached report with the second user logged in. I beleive the fix had something to do with the cached profile not being fully purged before signing into the second.

Conditional formatting from PowerBI Desktop is not transferred to paginated reports. Regardless of whether the paginated reports were created via the BI service or the Report Builder. Does anyone know how to do? Regards Martina

Our organization has 5 PowerBi Premium User licenses and we are an existing O365 customer for email, office apps, teams, etc. Trying to publish reports/dashboards so our organization users (do not have a paid PowerBi license) can view and interact with. MS chat advised this should be possible via Teams connector. Unfortunately users get the message below when trying to access the report. Any help would be appreciated. "you've selected micosoft fabric free. we can't finish signing you up because Microsoft Fabric Free isn't currently available for your work or school"

Hi, I have one calendar table (french). 12 month : Janvier, Février... Décembre An integer column [1..12] : 12 values janvier = 1 février = 2... etc. All was working fine and I never had any "duplicate value ..." error message when trying to Sort a column by another one. When connecting to a Power BI dataset in Excel and using this connection in mulitple pivot tables I need to sign into my Microsoft account for every pivot individually. Also when opening the excel file the process repeats and I can only view the excel file after signing in for every single pivot connection. Same story for changing the content of the table (add or remove a measure) the popup appears and I need to sign in again.

The slider mouseover-area has issues when setting a slicer style as "Between" and turning off the Responsive -setting behind Advanced options. When using this kind of slicer, the mouseover-area for the slider is to the right from the selection bar. This also causes an issue, when trying to select values at the end of the slider, you are not able to adjust the ending value. Here's a gif-video about the issue: The issue appears in both Desktop and in the PowerBI Service. I'm using the latest version of the Desktop (the issue has been visible in previous versions also) 2.128.952.0 64-bit (April 2024) in Windows 11 (22H2 22621.3296)

In Power BI Desktop, click on Enter Data and create a table having 2 columns. In column 1, enter values 1-10; and in column 2, enter values a-j. Load this table into Power BI. 2. Now create a table visual with both these columns 3. Create a slicer visual with column 1, SLICER TYPE should be dropdown, and under SELECTION choose `Show "Select All" ...` 4. Click on the slicer visual, and under the filter pane -> `Filters on this visual` -> filter on this column such that it shows items with value less than 4, and click on `Apply Filter` 5. Now your slicer will show values from 1 to 3 6. If you select any slicer value, the table visual will get filtered to show that record. 7. However, if I choose `Select All`, with the intention that the table should show data for all items in the slicer, then the table visual shows all values. Shouldn't it only show 1 to 3?

Hi, this seems to be a bug in the April 24 release. You can no longer right click and group objects on the canvas, nor can you do it in the selection pane. The only place to do it is from the Format menu, however, after some time or a trigger (I'm yet to work out what) the objects ungroup. This is causing issues with selected items bookmarking.

Hello, As of the latest release of PBI desktop (version: 2.128.751.0), the 100% stacked column chart detail labels do not display or inherit the correct font color by default. This applies both to standard Microsoft default themes and custom variants. Only an explicit font color reference (using 'detailColor') in a custom theme file or alternatively a manual override appears to solve the issue, but ideally it would 'simply' inherit the color from elsewhere in the file, as this would facilitate a simpler, cleaner JSON theme file (which of course has multiple benefits). To visually demonstrate, here is a 100% stacked colum chart with the default PBI theme in place and Data labels switched on (which by default uses the detail labels as expected). Note the highlighte color options in the Detail formatting panel, which do not match the physical font color: This also applies to standard custom themes, like so (in this case, the intended style is for the font to appear black against a white background): In both cases, the correct font color is ostensibly being referenced, but not translated into the visual. However, if the font color is drilled into, the correct hex value is revealed (this also fixes the font color of course, as PBI sees any access to this menu as a hard override): If using the explicit 'detailColor' value in the custom JSON theme file, this also fixes the issue, though this should NOT be necessary: Hoping this can be fixed relatively easily, as we're mindful of keeping our custom theme file as streamlined as possible and anomalies such as this are nudging us in the wrong direction, adding granular formatting where it should be avoided if possible, thanks!

Hello, Having upgraded to the latest release (version: 2.128.751.0 at the time of writing) it's been observed that, by default, the 'Detail' formatting options for the Data labels pane is currently missing 'Bold', 'Italic' and 'Underline' as options in PBI desktop, as shown below: Also, just to confirm from my testing, this is the case even if using a default Microsoft theme (as well as a standard custom theme). However, if a 'detailBold' option is invoked in a custom PBI theme file explicitly, this then works in the relevant PBI file in PBI desktop, and also displays in the visual, like so: Clearly, this is not expected behaviour, so would suggest these formatting options to be made available in the formatting pane as per other similar text outputs, thanks!

Hi, We have enabled the PERSONALIZE option for some of our visuals and users love the ability to add some measures to the visuals that are published. However, the names we've given our meausres are quite long (for example : "Gas Produced Gross (e3m3/d)"), and they don't fit in the window that pops up when you choose to personalize, and we can't figure out a way to make that window bigger. You can see the full name if you hover with your mouse over the measure names but it would be easier/more convenient to be able to SEE the full name, by exanding that little pop-up window. Thanks

I am currently using Power BI to connect to an Excel workbook with a live connection. The workbook contains data that I summarize using Power BI. While this process works smoothly on Windows, I am facing difficulties when attempting to refresh the data in Excel on my Mac. Specifically, when I click on "Data" > "Refresh All" in Excel on my Mac, the worksheet remains blank, and I do not see the expected output rows that I see on Windows. Here are some additional details: The live connection between Power BI and Excel is established without any errors in window. I have verified that the data source is accessible and up-to-date. Enabled the External Data Connection both in Mac and Window I have tried troubleshooting this issue by restarting both Power BI and Excel, as well as checking for any updates, but the problem persists. I would greatly appreciate any guidance or assistance you can provide to help resolve this issue and ensure that I can successfully summarize data in Excel with a live connection on my Mac.

Power BI Apps are showing a broken icon suddenly: Updating the icon in the 'Update App' section does not fix the problem. It does not matter what file format is used. This is occuring with all our icons and they all used to work. after making a change to this: Pressing 'Update App' reverts it back to being broken.
