Hi,

Would you like to try to simply select the tables in the connection setting page instead of using the native SQL statement to query the data source to check if the problem can disappear?

Here are some cases with similar issues, you can take a look at:

https://www.reddit.com/r/PowerBI/comments/jo0kdv/unable_to_convert_an_m_query_in_table_xxx_into_a/

https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Unable-to-convert-an-M-query-in-table-Dataset-Table-into-a/...

Thank you very much!

Hi,

In my opinion, if you want to get a solution for this kind of dataflow problem as soon as possible based on your specific situation, I suggest you to open a support ticket to get direct help from the technical support team of Microsoft to have a remote session them to help you to make sure if this is an issue existing in the Power BI.

Simliar issue has been submited internal(ICM: 277929656) and here is the information from PG team:

The refresh operation throttled by Power BI Premium is a known issue as documented Troubleshooting refresh scenarios - Power BI | Microsoft Docs. The engineering team is actively working on this including and not limited to adding resources and improving resource governance.

Hi @fbottazzoli

Not sure whether this issue is caused by Power BI Desktop. Could you please do a little test to confirm whether this issue is caused by Power BI Desktop?

  • Leave Power BI Desktop sign out but sign in Office with credential, and then observe whether such issue will happen
  • If possible, please try to uninstall Power BI Desktop and then try the steps above

If you confirm this issue is caused by Power BI Desktop after these attempt and you are a Pro user, please open a support ticket for further help in Power BI Support. For how to create a support ticket, please refer to this blog. It couldn’t be better if you post the solution here to help others after you get it from support engineer. Thanks in advance!

  1. When using 'Hide columns' in the Data view, the hidden column values could be shown in the Data view but could not be used in the Report view, it is by design in Power BI Desktop.
  2. If delete colums in Power Query by changing the data source which have the same structure but different rows, it would affect Power BI Desktop after close and apply it. Could not reproduce this issue in my side as far as my test. Perhaps you can consider sharing a sample file which could reproduce this issue without sentive information for further.

Hi,

As far as I’m concerned, you can click on the “View lineage” option for this data to get the list of the related dataset:

For more info, please refer to the permission of this feature:

Hi @darrenfishell

Thanks for your description in details. And your problem is that the total value of a Calculated column isn’t changed according to the RLS. May I know whether you could provide a link of a sample pbix file containing your issue? Thanks in advance!

Hi @kojeyovuru

According to the reply from product team, Format strings always interpret comma (,) as the thousand separator. Escaped apostrophe (') is simply treated as a character literal. Since your intention is to change the thousand separator to apostrophe ('), you should not change the format string, but change the region setting to a region that uses apostrophe as the thousand separator such as Switzerland. This document supported-languages countries regions describes how to change region settings in Power BI Desktop. Please note that changing region settings only affects future new models but won't affect existing models.

Whether your measures have been quoted each other in Power BI Desktop, see simliar articles/threads:

  1. Avoiding-circular-dependency-errors-in-dax
  2. Concept of Circular Dependency in Power BI

In addition, noticed that you have mentioned this issue happened after updating Power BI, what is the version of it and whether it works fine in previous report.

Hi @divyansh95

  • May I know whether you get this issue when you refresh your report based on OData data source?
  • Which connector did you use to create your report? Did you use OData Feed connector?
  • To refresh it, did you configure gateway for it?
  • Could you please download your report from Power BI service(app.powerbi.com) and open it in Power BI Desktop? After that, check the Applied steps in Power Query Editor(Enter it by clicking on Transform Data) to see whether there is any errors? In addition, please try to refresh this report in Power BI Desktop to see whether it can be refreshed successfully?

You can submit the requirement to ideas and add your comments there to make this feature coming sooner: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas

It is a place for customers provide feedback about Microsoft Office products . What’s more, if a feedback is high voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.

Hi @Wouter

May I know whether there are some null values in these columns in your data source? If you untick 'blank' for 'statecode_display' and 'statuscode_display' column or sort these columns by decending , will you see those nonblank values in these columns?
