This issue is related to Renaming columns in Power Query doesn't show up in... - Page 3 - Microsoft Fabric Community. Hi! I guess I've found a sort of bug when working with Calculation Groups and the names of the items are modified. The issue comes up when I try to create a new or edit an items group, via the option "New group" / "Edit group" available when you right click on the Calculation Group column name: I'm going to explain this with some example. I've created the PRODUCT_EXAMPLE calculation group, that contains Product A, Product B and Product C items (that eventually will return the SELECTEDMEASURE() filtered by one of those products). Here is what Power BI displays when I go to the "New group" option: So far so good, I can see the 3 items and I can create a group (that will be a new column in my calculation groups table). BUT, if I modify the name of the items, the "New group" option diplay the previous name. I'm going to change Product C name to Bananas: Now I go to the "New group" option and as you can see Product C is still there, when it should be Bananas. Now I'll add a new item, Orange: So now, if I open the groups panel again, I can see the Bananas item and the new item Orange: In summary, the behaviour of this feature seem a bit strange. I've tried refreshing the table where the items are located and it doesn't change. The best that I've found is save changes, close the report and reopen; or as in the previous example, create a dummy item, and then delete it.    ... View more

I have a data model / report with a wide distribution list. Recently we experienced a critical error with our dynamic RLS setup. It has been working perfectly for months. We narrowed it down to Companies, who has not been properly registered in the Company master table, but somehow exist in our Security/ User Bridge. Please follow this illustration of the data model RLS filtering as user@user.com opens the Power BI App:         As you can see, user@user.com is logging into the Power BI app, and the User table is properly filtered down to only his username. The UserBridge is also correctly filtered, though the corresponding CompanyId in this table, doesn't find a match in the Company table. Thus the Company table throws a blank filter to the Service table, which again, at least it SHOULD propagate to the Billing table. However as you can see the billing table returns a few lines with blank ServiceId values, which is expected due to the omission of a CompanyID in the Company table (and the fact that the Billing table, while not intended, contains rows with blank ServiceIds), BUT it also returns a subset of seemingly random ServiceId lines. How this is even possible, is simply beyond my understanding of how RLS works in Power BI. I get the same test result offline in Power BI Desktop.   I have posted this as a question in the forums, but have not gotten any feedback, so I am starting to suspect that this is indeed a general issue/bug. Hi,   This one is critical because deployment pipelines.   We can't create a rule in a deployment pipeline if we are not the owner of the object. We can't make a deploy if our deploy will be overriding an object which we don't own. This last one makes the problem very critical.   For example, at the moment I have a workspace where the notebooks belong to different users and two of them already left the company. Hi, Starting scenario: You have a branch called Development and a workspace linked to this branch.  The workspace has many notebooks.   On Azure DevOps, you create a new branch called MyNewFeature, based on the Development branch. On the workspace, you make some changes on the notebooks. Basically, you drop some code you don't want in the Development branch yet. You are confident you have this code in the MyNewFeature branch, to continue the work there. You commit the changes to the Development Branch. On Power BI portal, you go on Workspace Settings -> Git Integration and change the branch from Development to MyNewFeature in order to continue your work. The notebook you changed will not be updated from the branch. It will be considered modified and requiring a commit. There is no option to make a pull (not that I have identified). In this way, you don't have "access" in the workspace to the code you need. If you commit the notebook to the server, the only option provided, you "lose" the code you built. You will need to dig the devOps history to retrieve the code again. The portal should: A) Make the checkout of the new branch silently, without comparing a previous branch with the new one. OR B) At least ask if we would like to override the content of the workspace or the content of the branch. I discovered the portal makes this question if we link a workspace which had no source control before and is not empty with a branch in source control which is not empty. Hi, Today, the lakehouses linked to the notebook and the default lakehouse are stored in comments in a .py file, with all the notebook code.   This makes the source control very difficult. If we would like to promote the notebook from development to test and to production and during this promotion we need to change the linked workspaces, it becomes very manual, or in need of devOps processing outside power bi. If this configuration were located in a configuration file together the notebook (and there are already some json files created for each notebook), we could use gitignore to avoid the json configuration file to be published to the source control. Hi everyone, I'm currently developing a Custom Data Connector with the PKCE OAuth2 flow. We are having some strange issues during a data refresh when an expired access_token is provided. From Fiddler, we can see that the initial exchange for a new token occurs successfully. But shortly thereafter, multiple calls are made to the /token endpoint using the old refresh_token. It appears that the number of subsequent calls correlates to the number of queries/tables used.   Other observations: Navigating to the Connector/Navigator window will correctly refresh the token too if the access_token From the screenshot, you can see a successful call to the endpoint for that single thread. From Power BI Desktop, the user will be presented the SignIn/Credentials window with the error "The credentials provided are invalid" for every query in the refresh (if they selected cancel). The subsequent data refresh will now work as the new tokens have been stored correctly from that first successful exchange. However this is not the case for when the on-premises gateway is used. I'm wondering if this is a known bug? Hi everyone, I'm able to create new layouts, but whenever I drag a table into the layout canvas (Eg. Layout1) it switches to "All tables" layout and closes my working layout automatically. My datamart has imported many tables, with this issue it hard to create a new relationship. It looks like a bug. I'm getting an error message when using power query connecting to S4/HANA using SAP BW connector. The error details are at the end. Dear experts referring to my post maybe someone can look into it. I got a new notebook and installed PowerBI Desktop from the Microsoft Store. I then loaded the working PBIX file and wanted to save it or publish it. Both doesn't work and errors are raised by Power BI Desktop. Refreshing the data and showing the report dashboard works. Hello!   A week ago I published a working BI model the Fabric with no issues.  This week the Power Query data model in Power BI Desktop Version: 2.123.742.0 64-bit (November 2023) will not load into the report with this error:   Failed to save modifications to the server. Error returned: 'DirectQuery partition <Table><GUID> has '0' datasource reference(s) in its expression which is not allowed. '.  The tables it's complaining about all refer to Direct Query tables in the model (the Reference option in the query editor).  Until yesterday these all parsed/loaded just fine.  I'm facing having to rebuild the entire PBIX, as deleting the tables or making any change to the data model always produces the above error.  I've Bing'ed the issue of course   Any help appreciated, many thanks!   Neil ... Hi Guys, I saw the Answer on how to convert negative to positive values and I did it ! Now I have new column with positive values ( which are Ex negative values) Now I try to use formula SUM to sum up the values, no error in measure. But when I put the measure in Visual, it shows blank.  I already corrected the Data type: Decimal Number (which is true) and Format: Currency, and Summarization: SUM Nothing helps. Please help! ...
