Hola, buenas tardes, mi nombre es Leandro y tengo una duda que hace rato no puedo desbloquear y no estoy seguro que pueda hacerse en Power BI. Tengo una tabla que contiene un conjunto de datos que se van guardando semanalmente (tipo back up), la cual contiene una columna donde se registra la fecha en la que se realizó el guardado (fecha de back up). Es como que se va actualizando incrementalmente en forma semanal (fecha back up 1 = 21/12/23, fecha back up 1 = 28/12/23, y así sucesivamente).   Quisiera saber si, a partir del valor elegido en un segmentador de fechas en la Vista de Informe, puedo crear una tabla calculada (NUEVA) en la Vista de Tabla. Por ejemplo: supongamos que en la Vista de Informe tengo un slicer cuyo campo es la fecha de back up y el valor elegido es "21/12/23". Quisiera crear una tabla calculada (en la Vista de Datos), que me traiga todas las filas de la tabla original para los cuales la fecha de back up = "21/12/23".   ¿Lo ven factible? ¿Tuvieron algún desafío similar que me puedan comentar?   Gracias! The "Clear all Segmentations" function should reset all data segmentations, including those that are hidden. This does not happen in the current versions of Power BI, I believe it would be an improvement and would solve some problems that I have been facing nowadays. ... View more

TOP 5 Categories with top 3 Subcategories

Hi,   I have created a measure for TOP 5 Categories with top 3 Subcategories  which is giving me correct count and Rank. But problem is when I add a slicer of confidence score on the page. It gives me incorrect results. It still seems to be sorted as it was before the subclass was selected. The result is the order of the original parent class. And with duplicate values, it's hard not to use ties to accomplish your purpose.

Card new visual - Incorrect decimals visualization online (OK in Power Bi Desktop)

The Card (new) visual does not properly handle decimals when online (it does not match the Power Bi Desktop behavior)     Steps to reproduce:   Create a data source with 2 columns: Cat (Text) Sum B (Decimal) Sum S (Decimal) Add data to the model: I created 3 categories, where SUM(Cat 1) values is <950 and the sum of the other categories is above 1K Add a measure to test it: Measure = SUM('Model'[Sum B]) Decimals formatting Keep in mind that Sum B format is Decimal in the Power Query model, then apply the formatting options shown in the below image Create a couple of Card(new) visuals to test the values I applied a Category filter to each of them (or to the page) I renamed the Measure field within the visual to reflect the filter applied to each     ... Issues editing manual measures

I was previously able to create and edit measures in a dashboard that is connected to a live data model. Since this update, this feature has not been functional. New Card Visual > Format > Callout > Label, missing option on where to position the label

After I updated to the November version of PowerBI, I lost the option on where to position a label under New Card Visual > Format > Callout > Label. There used to be options for "Above value" and "Below value". I have two new card visuals which I built before I updated to the November version and one new card visual which I built after the update and I cannot get it to match because this option is missing and the default for the label is "above value". And no, I cannot change the values on the other cards to "above value" because I am using a DAX for the label to provide further information on the value, so "above value" doesn't make sense. PowerPoint Addin - New Filters Do Not Apply

Hi all   When I add a PowerBI to a PowerPoint, it works as expected for the first time, and refreshes without a problem. But if I add a new visual to the same PowerBI, or apply a new filter and publish again, filters are not synced with the Powerpoint add-in and show the new/updated visuals without a filter. Possibly URL is generated with the filters the first time and then does not recognize any change afterwards about the filters. Any idea how to overcome this?   Scenario for better understanding:   I am presenting metrics for projects only A, C, D from the projects pool A, B, C, D, E. I copy the URL and add it to the PowerBI tile in PowerPoint. Works as expected. For the next month, I'd like to add our new project "F" to the same PowerBI page. I update the project filter visual to include "F". On the desktop and web workspace, everything works and can change between projects A, C, D, F. On the PowerPoint side, F does not show up and keeps the original filters from when I copied the URL.   ... View more

Once the report or visual has loaded, it's live and you can select the data as desired. Any changes you make while editing the presentation will be saved. The next time you open the presentation, the report or visual will appear in the state you last left it in.

 

  • Refreshes the report page or visual with the latest data from the Power BI service. Note: Refresh doesn't trigger getting data from the data sources.

The error message “Cannot read properties of null (reading ‘visualContainers’)” suggests that the program is trying to access a property of an object that hasn’t been initialized. 

If the issue persists, you might want to consider uninstalling and then reinstalling Power BI Desktop.

Is Show/Hide visuals is not working properly while using same slicers count in the visual filters?

Dear team,  I would like to show/hide the visuals based on the slicer count. If the slicer selection is more than 1 then I would like to display the table which has the main column the same as a slicer. If the selection is 1 then another table of visual data should be displayed in it.  Example: I have a country as a slicer. If more than one country has been selected then the country table visual should display the data. If only one country is selected then the product table visual should display the data. I have created a measure SelectionCount. SelectionCount = COUNTROWS(VALUES(table[COUNTRY])) When I used the card element to verify the selection it displayed the expected result. If I applied the same on the visual filters like the product table visuals show the data SelectionCount is 1. It is working as expected the real problem happened on the visual_1 which is a country table. When I applied the visual filter like SelectionCount is greater than 1 it did not work as expected. Always hide the data. But, Visual_2 which is the product table working as expected show/hide.    When I workaround the same like the Visual_1 using Segment instead of the country then I got the expected result. Show/Hide functionality working fine.    Is there any limitation in Power BI while using the slicer attribute using any visuals then it is not working as expected. Custom Period Filter for Date Range

I've created a Period Filter in my report which contained custom for users to select a specific date range. A measure has been created so that if Custom was selected the date range would be activated. All works as expected however once the end user applies a specific date range the date filter (between) doesn't look right. It somehow maintains the date selected. Now i have to find out  those sites where the sales are going continous down month on month basis based on my month selction dynamically.    Let's say : I have selected 4 month from slicer then i need those site which have been continous sales down for those selected month. or i have selected 6 month or 8 month then i would be needing those site which sales continous down for those selected 6 or 8 month. Is it possible to display the second level of hierarchy data while selecting only one slicer option?

Dear team,  I would like to design a grid report, which should display the second level of details while selecting only one primary level data in the slicer. If I selected multiple options in the primary level slicer then the grid should display the selected primary level data. Is it possible to achieve this on a Power BI desktop?   I have a single table with a proper hierarchy level as well. I have tried the DAX function using IF() but the true/false section table attribute is not displayed for the suggestion. it is a text data type. 💥Design Issue? Bookmark Navigator button State

So I've seen this issue continue to pop up, but not definitive answer as to a solution. Not solved Example: Solved: Bookmark Navigator Bug? - Microsoft Fabric Community Anyway, there seems to be a bookmark navigator state bug/design issue?  I have two bookmark groups.  One that opens the slicer panel, the other that flips between tabs on the report page.  Month data, table data, etc... Issue: When I click on 'Month Trend' on the report page, everything works perfectly. When I open the slicer panel bookmark, it defaults to the table view, which is the way I set it, and that's fine. However, the problem is that the bookmark navigator state still remains on the month, even though it's showing the table view as default. I'm aware that a workaround is to create multiple buttons (the old way), but using the bookmark navigator would be the correct and more efficient approach for this functionality if it worked properly.  Until then, I don't see the use of the bookmark navigator as a good solution (if you use muliptle groups for various menus which people seem to do more often) It will confuse users.  Is there an update or fix for this bug?  My screens are attached ot help explain this issue.   ... Unfortunately, this is as-designed with the current capabilities of bookmarks.  The bookmark navigator visual is designed to "remember" the last-clicked bookmarked based on the current viewing session. 

We have work items tracking potential solutions against customer-reported issues like this but cannot promise an estimated time to resolve this issue at this time.

Power BI not creating REditorWrapper.R

In a R visual script, when I click the Edit script in external IDE button, Power BI launches R Studio, but the R script for the visual (REditorWrapper.R) does not appear.   The page below advises what to do if R Studio does not automatically detect the REditorWrapper script. However, when I follow the instructions to search for the REditorWrapper folder/file on my C drive, nothing can be found. It appears that Power BI is not creating the script. If your Power BI code doesn’t reflect in R Studio automatically, then you need to go to the following path to open your R script file in R Studio. However, if you can’t find the REditorWrapper folder/file on your C drive, it might be due to several reasons.

Here are a few things you could check:

1.Verify that your local R installation is specified in Detected R home directories and that it properly reflects the local R installation you want Power BI Desktop to use.

2.From the Power BI Desktop menu, select File > Options and settings > Options. On the left side of the Options page, under Global, select R scripting.
3.Under R script options, verify that your local R installation is specified in Detected R home directories and that it properly reflects the local R installation you want Power BI Desktop to use.

R Visual will not load

I'm trying to create an R Visual for the first time in Power BI Desktop and get the message:   Warning message: In options(stringsAsFactors = TRUE) : 'options(stringsAsFactors = TRUE)' is deprecated and will be disabled Error in setwd("C:/R/WorkingDir") : cannot change working directory Initially when I create the R visual and add fields, it looks okay and generates the script:   # The following code to create a dataframe and remove duplicated rows is always executed and acts as a preamble for your script: # dataset <- data.frame(area, val, lci, uci, areagroup, label) # dataset <- unique(dataset) # Paste or type your script code here:   As soon as I enter any R code below this, no matter what it is, Power BI shows 'Can't display the visual' and returns the error message above.   When I go to the R scripting options in Power BI, it has auto-detected my version of R and R Studio correctly: Detected R home directories: C\:Program Files\R\R-4.2.3 Detected R IDEs: R Studio   I can't work out where the setwd("C:/R/WorkingDir") error is coming from or how to fix it.
