When composite modelling is turned on Append Query won't work on imported tables

I imported one Excel-file with serveral sheets. With 3 of those sheets I did an append Query action in de Query editor. When I close and Apply the query it gives me an error "This query contains transformations that can't be used for DirectQuery". I never changed the storage mode to Direct Query. When I then go back to the editor the Appended Query give me a message that I need tot switch to een Import mode. But when I try do that, nothing happens.

I am unable to reproduce this issue in the Power BI Desktop July release(2.60.5169.4101 64-bit (July 2018))? Could you please share the Excel file and the code in Advanced Editor of the append query for me to test?
