Visualizations don't work after migrating SSAS model from 2012 to 2017

I built a SSAS 2017 to replace our 2012. I re-deployed a model to the new 2017 instance at compatibility 1200, and also another one after upgrading the model to 1400. They both deploy successfully.

I am using Power BI Desktop (Optimized for Report Server) Jan 2019 build.

If I open an EXISTING Power BI file that works against our current SSAS 2012, and point it to either the 1200 model or 1400 model on the new 2017 instance, visualizations won't work. I get "Can't display the visual". When I click "details", I get "Couldn't load data for this visual An unexpected exception occurred", along with the details below. Is there something I'm missing? Everything seems identical. Something I need to change within the Power BI file other than just re-pointing to the new data source?

I should also point out that if I create a NEW file in Power BI Desktop and point it to the 2017 instance, visualizations work fine.

@Anonymous ,

Do you install CU13 for SSAS 2017? Do you create any DAX and apply any filters in your visuals?

Currenly, there is an issue with SSAS 2017 CU13 as described in this KB.

Regards,
Lydia

Yes, CU13 is installed, and I bet I am affected by this DAX issue.

Based on the new "Modern Servicing Model", and the statement "Starting with SQL Server 2017 CU13,   CUs will be delivered bi-monthly (every other month) instead of quarterly.", I'm assuming we'll see CU14 very soon. I'll wait for that instead of trying to uninstall CU13.

Thank you!

[SOLVED] I can confirm that SQL Server 2017 CU 14 solved this problem in my environment. Visualizations are now showing properly!
