Visual Won't Display Power BI Online App

I have a visual that is displaying when I open it in Power BI Desktop but no such luck when I attempt to in the web app.  I've had this visual displayed for almost a year with no issues but the last month or so it has been down and I have not been able to fix.  below are the details I get.

Is there any gateway configured for this dataset? If yes, please check the gateway status.

You can also try to republish the report from PBI Desktop to see if it helps.

Yes I've checked all of the gateways and connections and they're operating as expected.  the rest of the visuals in the report are working fine.  I've republished several times, even deleting the viusal and rebuilding from scratch.  I've modified the visual to be laid out differently.  the visual will work correctly in pbi desktop but not in the web app.  I was told by a user yesterday that they received a "visual has exceeded available resources" error and that was the first time for that.
