Unable to share reports to external users

For the past week we have been unable to share reports to users external to our domain. When we share to somebody within the company it sends fine but to external e-mails we get the following error message:

Hi @phileastman,

Sometimes the organization IT Admin will block from sharing the reports outside of the organization.

Check with your team whether it was disabled.
If disabled ask them to enable the feature, so that you would be able to share the reports outside your organization.

We can  only share o
utside the organization if we have this feature enabled inside the admin portal. Under the Tenant settings your Power BI admin will have the ability to Share content with External users.

If it's enabled but still facing the same issue.  Please contact the support team here

@Sudheerv Thank you for the quick response! I've spoken to IT and found the above settings. It's enabled so we've raised a support ticket for further investigation 🙂

Hi @phileastman,

Is the issue resolved?

@Sudheerv - Yes just resolved this morning, we needed to add the external user to our azure directory first prior to being able to send the invite out. Guide we followed is below in-case anybody else has the same error:
