Hi,
On Power BI Desktop I have been trying to refresh or connect an Excel file in a SharePoint folder. The file was created by someone else and posted to a SharePoint with a url that has --https://mycompanyname.sharepoint.com/sites/Workspace. I have been made an Owner of the page. When I refresh the PBI report, I get the message "Access to the resource is forbidden"(See Below).
I grabbed the link to the SharePoint folder and I am able to access it via a web browser.
So my next step was to change my authentication. It was set to Windows. From there I tried Anonymous and Microsoft Account. Anonymous did not work. After I hit Microsoft Account, I used my company O365 account email, I got the following blank window:
I have the most current version of Power BI on my machine and another person who has the report on their local is able to refresh it without any problem. I do not know what version of PBI the other person is working with.
This seems like really basic functionality that should work with Power BI and I have been really frustrated by the answers given so far. Usually it is somebody just posting a link to directions on how to connect to a SharePoint folder. I know how to do it. When I do it, it does not work. Please do not send me a link to this : https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/combining-excel-files-hosted-on-a-sharepoint-folder/
