Unable to open document - "We weren't able to restore the saved database to the model"

Hello! I was told to post this under the Issues section, apologies if I am going about doing this the wrong way. Please see the details below. Thanks!

A fairly large file (around 300 MB) that was around 2 months of work suddenly stopped opening today with the following error message "Unable to open document - We weren't able to restore the saved database to the model."

 

Ironically, we did nothing but attempt to create a backup copy of the file prior to it no longer being able to open. The timing of this couldn't be much worse as we have our monthly deadline coming up. Is there anything that can be done? Any additional information that anyone would need to assist?

 

We have the most current version (64 bit) installed. We also have had multiple people attempt to open the file - both using the 64 and 32-bit versions. Additionally, we tried using the March 2019 version of desktop, and nothing has seemed to work.

 

Thanks in advance for any help that's possible.
