Synonyms Editor Stuck

The issue started when I tried to use the synonyms editor.
After adding a synonym to one attribute of a table, the "Working on it" dialog popped up and would not go away.
30 minutes later, I killed the Power BI applcation which generated the error below.
The table involved participates in a Many-to-Many relationship through a bridge table, but that could be a red herring.
Testing shortly to see if that is the reason or if it happens with other tables and other models as well.

It looks like you are getting data in Import mode, would you please share a pbix file with some dummy data and share detail steps to reproduce the issue?

I have a pbix file ready to go. Where do I send it? Please private message me with an email address. I did further testing, and was able to add synonyms to one of the smaller dimension tables, but trying to do so on a large one stalls.  I left it running int he background for over an hour, with no response.Screenshot of Task manager while the issue was happening.
