A report using a Direct Query over BigQuery fails to publish to the PowerBI Service generating error message:

 

An error occurred while attempting to publish. [ReportName.pbix] Value cannot be null. Parameter name: uriString

Hi @schumy,

 

It works fine in my test that is a Direct Query to a public dataset. 

1. Please upgrade the Desktop to the latest version.

2. If there are something special in your data model?

Hi Dale, I have retried publish and for some reason it now works (didn't change anything) but having now reached the screenshot you have provided I am still having issues as the report still does not work without credentials. I am trying to use a service account which has been created with appropriate permissions to the dataset. Can you advise how this can be used to authenticate? Thanks
