Report Server September 2019 instance name in URL suddenly case sensitive

Hello together,

 

we just installed the Power BI Report Server September 2019 update to find out that URL suddenly is case sensitive for the "Reports" (Instance name?) which in the previous versions it wasn't!

URL of our server: https://servername.com/Reports/

Example of a report URL previously working: https://servername.com/reports/MySalesReport --> with May 2019 working

 

With September 2019 the URL will forward the request to the Report Server root page (as in "not found").

 

This is a huge problem since customers may have bookmarked their report URLs and now their reports wont open after opening their bookmark... 

 

Any help/fix here is highly appreciated.

We have installed Version 1.6.7206.42072 (September 2019) (Build 15.0.1102.597) on Saturday September 28th, 2019 and get the same issue when the name of the virtual directory isn't entered in the way it's configured in the configuration manager.

I'm wondering that the changelog page shows a lower version (1.6.7206.38019 (Build 15.0.1102.597), Released: September 26, 2019) than we downloaded for installation.

We just downloaded the current download link today which provides version 1.6.7221.30698 (September 2019) (Build 15.0.1102.620) (10/10/2019) and installed it on test environment during the day. It fixed our issue on TEST and is installed on PROD currently.

we upgrade our server from May version to latest Sept version. then everything went 503 service unavailable. just like kenny pointed out, has anyone solved this issue? thanks. @Anonymous

we followed @Anonymous solution. and it worked.

should upgrade dotnet to 4.8

there is Version: 1.6.7221.30698 (Build 15.0.1102.620), Released: October 9th, 2019

Bug fixes:

-Fix for Text Filter custom visual.

-Fix for the performance of drop down slicers.

-Fix for Strip PII from telemetry.

-Fix for URLs to not be case sensitive.
