Report Canvas Alignment is stuck in "Top" alignment

In the december 2022 Power BI Desktop you can no longer change the standard setting for canvas vertical alignment.

 

If you change the standard i options and settings, it just resest to "top" as soon as you close the window.

Have got feedback from product team. This behavior is expected. The setting in Options is the default for new files created in desktop. It does not reflect the setting in the currently opened report and not does it change it. To change the alignment for the open report, use canvas settings in the format pane.

Hi @kristofferwest 

 

Please close Power BI Desktop after you change the settings in Options. It will take effect at the next time you open Desktop.

 

Change page alignment to Align the page in the center of the wallpaper, then close this application

Restart this application, Vertical Alignment will change to Middle

No still does not work - this is my third installation with the same problem.

 

So it is not limited to this machine. I am a consultant and work on different client solutions

Issue is reported(ICM 287126950). Will sync here once there is any update. And please try these steps to see whether this issue won’t happen.

1 Directly click on the shortcut of Desktop, Change Page alignment in Options

2 Close Desktop but not do the operation of Save

3 Reopen Desktop

Hi

This is a problem across several computers.

 

They all run Windows 11 via paralells Dektop Version 17.1.1 (51537)

 

I still get the same problem as you can se here.

Thanks for your feedback - but it makes no sence.

 

the toggle should really work on the current file as well 🙂
