Publishing from desktop hangs

PowerBI desktop hangs when publishing reports to the Power BI portal.

The report gets published sucessfully but the "Publishing to Power BI" dialog never finishes. Clicking on cancel or close on the dialog does nothing. The only way to get out of PowerBI desktop is to use task manger and kill the PowerBI process.

It is like PowerBI desktop gets stuck and the portal doesn't tell it the report and dataset is done publishing.

Please check if the issue happens to one specific report or all reports. 

Is there any error throws out finally? 

Which Power BI desktop version do you run? Please try with the latest desktop version for the same report.

Hi - it is a mixed bag.

All reports do it, but only every 2-3 times of re-publishing.

I have the June version (which is the latest as at time of writing) but has actually been happening for the past few versions

Please go to Power BI service, click Get Data-> Files to publish reports, does it have the same issue?

@v-qiuyu-msft that isn't the same as refreshing and publishing the same report is it?
