Hi @alfredorhz

May I know whether your issue is that you can’t launch Power BI Desktop no matter you directly click on the shortcut or try to open it with a pbix file? Are you using the latest version of Power BI Desktop(December 2021)? Did you get it from official Download Center?

May I know whether you have installed WebView2 on the machine that install the Power BI Desktop? If you haven’t install it, please obtain it by following our official blog. After that, reinstall this application. Thanks!

HI, Team _ Caiyun

Thanks for the answer.
I try to open from the shortcut, .pbix file, even from the Microsoft Store, and the result is the same.
+uninstall the old version and re-install the last version.
+install the webview2 V96, the same result.
+uninstall and re-install the last Edge Version.
+Install the last cumulative update for windows 11(14 dic).

Nothing fixes the problem...
Greetings

To resolve this in a temporal solution, I uninstall the last version of power bi, and install the version of 24 August 2021, 2.96.901.0, and works perfectly!!!

Hi @alfredorhz @unascimento

I got it. Please install previous version of Power BI Desktop as a workaround currently. And once there is a newly released Power BI Desktop, I’ll sync with you here. For how to get older version of Power BI Desktop, please refer Previous monthly updates to Power BI Desktop and Power BI service. Thanks.

Hello,

From looking at the exception, it is the WebView2 browser process which is crashing. We are working with the WebView2 team to figure out the cause for this but it would be nice to have some more information to help investigate.
Would it be possible for you to provide the following -

1 – the WebView2 crash dumps.
You will find them under: “C:\Users\<<UserAlias>>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop\WebView2\EBWebView\Crashpad\reports”
Or if you ran desktop as Admin, the under : “C:\Users\<<UserAlias>>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop\WebView2Elevated\EBWebView\Crashpad\reports”
2 - your device Id -You can go to Windows -> settings -> system -> about and see the device id there.

You can send the information to me at rahulsh@microsoft.com
Workaround:

To workaround this issue for now, you can go to File->Options and Settings -> Options -> Preview Features and disable the "Power BI Desktop Infrastructure Update" feature switch. That should stop using WebView2.

The exit code above : -1073740760 indicates something blocking the WebView2 process rendered. Do you have any antivirus installed or any other program which could be blocking this? If so can you try adding PBIdesktop and msedgewebview2 process to the exemption list of the antivirus? Also can you please share the dump files for the WebView2 mentioned above and the CI events?

1 – the WebView2 crash dumps.
You will find them under: “C:\Users\<<UserAlias>>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop\WebView2\EBWebView\Crashpad\reports”
Or if you ran desktop as Admin, the under : “C:\Users\<<UserAlias>>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop\WebView2Elevated\EBWebView\Crashpad\reports”

2 - CI events

Click Windows key -> search Event Viewer OR
Run ‘eventvwr’ on elevated cmd prompt or powershell
-> go to “Applications and Services Logs” under Event Viewer
->  “Microsoft”

-> “Windows”

-> “CodeIntegrity”
Under CodeIntegrity, select operational, right click and select "Save all events as" and save the file. (.evtx)
For display information select "Display information for these languagues: English"
