Hello,
I'd like to share the problem I've been experiencing for three months
1) make PBIX file and import any data (regardless of the contents)
2) save the file
3) saved file size significantly reduced (only few kliobytes)
4) exit PBI Desktop and open the file again
5) warning message appears "There are pending changes in your queries that haven't been applied"
6) click apply changes
7) query refreshing but in data view it shows 0 rows
: if you refresh again by clicking "Refresh" icon, then the data comes
😎 save again and close/open it again
9) still no data in it and must be refreshed manually
(all the visuals says there's problem in one or more field meaning no data in it)
I think when saving the quried data is wiped out, and also saving is only possible at the first time.
If you click the saving button again, then there's no response (if it's sucessful there's a message saying working on it)
Strange thing is when in the add system envionment variable, emptying query data behaviour disappear.
(Control Panel>System>Advanced system settings>Environment Variables
> User variables... New... >Variable name: PBI_fastLoadSave / Variable value: false)
However, then another problem comes. Except for saving untitled file, saving feature doesn't work at all.
It just copied previous file if I saved as and if click the save button, no changes and no messages
How could I solve this problem?
The problem's behaviour does alternate if I added the environmental variable but couldn't solve it.
Please do not say to create support ticket
(as only few people use Power BI in Samsung, I couldn't subscribe the pro package, as it couldn't be purchase indivisually)
* System Environment
- Power BI Desktop x64
- Windows 7 x64 SP1 Korean
- DRM enabled (Samsung's internal program)
- Computer Name: CHUNGJINLEE-02 (can't be changed as it's company policy)
* I've tested on 2018 March, April, May and June version.
(2018 Jan version doesn't make any issue)
