PowerBI local server install requires 3 urls... /reports /reportserver & /powerbi

WE have PowerBI installed on our own server, we have configured it for windows integrated security and set the web portal url to /reports and the reportingservices url to /reportserver but...

When loading up the /reports interface, the front end also uses /powerbi/libs/fonts and /powerbi/assets

Why do some urls follow this path instead of configuration setting urls /reports?

It isn't documented anywhere (that I could find) that this happens either..

I would like to know how I get /powerbi/libs & /powerbi/assets/ type requests from powerBI to follow the configured web and server urls in the configuration.

The configuration sets the urls to /reports and /reportserver so I wouldn't expect the web front end to be trying to get to resources at /powerbi..

Is this a bug in a local install of PowerBI?

Hi @abc276

From your description, it looks like you are running Power BI report server.

Could you please clarify "the front end also uses /powerbi/libs/fonts and /powerbi/assets"?

PowerBIReportServerURLs.jpgPowerBIReportServerURLs2.jpgFrom chrome developer tools I can see that some of the urls the powerbi report server is trying to load from are not following either of the two configured urls.  All resources should be coming from either /reports/* or /reportserver/* but /powerbi/* appears multiple times.  I would have expected the urls http://servername/reports/powerbi rather than http://servername/powerbi to be used.

This is unexpected and also gets in the way of setting up a friendly domain to alias the server.  e.g. server name is http://bob/ but want to present powerbi report server at http://fancyservername.com/ means /reports /reportsserver and /powerbi all need to alias the server.

Could it be to do with downloaded extensions to PowerBI. e.g. new chart types.  Perhaps they don't inherit the correct directory structure? We have 'network navigator' visualization extension as an example. Please could you try that before I raise a support ticket as it would help pinpoint where the problem is.
