Power bi Desktop: Unable to save document

Greetings

On some of my pbix documents when attempting to save I get this:

Unable to save document

The file *.pbix is already open in Power BI Desktop or another program.

Appreciate some help!

John

NB Have searched for assistance on this issue but without benefit.

Status: Investigating

Hi,

Have you tried to save it on a computer with a higher configuration environment(like larger RAM and disk space)?

If you still have a problem and want to get a solution for this kind of data model problem as soon as possible, I suggest you to open a support ticket to get direct help from the technical support team of Microsoft.

Thank you very much!

Hi,

I think you should first go to the task manager to check if there is more than one Power BI desktop process running on your PC.

If you still have a problem, I suggest you to uninstall the Power BI desktop and update to the latest version of the Power BI desktop to open the pbix file agaion to check if this problem can disappear and you can successfully save the document.

Here are two cases with the similar issues:

Thank you for seeking to assist Robert

Have done all the usual, including both of your suggestions already.

Perhaps it is indeed because the model is too complex for Power BI to cope - only that they ahve been functioning well until recently!

Hello

My PC is top of the range with plenty of resources.

Has been fine for months.

Documents are not huge nor highly complex.

Have been clearing

%AppData\Local\Power BI Desktop

and still no joy.

Have initiated a ticket as you suggest with MS Support as well.
