Power BI dektop freezes after inactivity

If I leave a report open overnight Power BI desktop often freezes and doesnt recover. In the screenshot below there is very little processor activity. The highlighted Pbix file I am trying to work on and is is showing no activity att all. One thing to note is that the report is connected to a dataset that is updated nightly.

Have you turned on the “Power BI Desktop infrastructure update preview feature” in the desktop setting?

If so, a similar issue has been reported internally, so stay tuned.

Problem description: When trying to launch Power Bi Desktop, it throws a frown error when the Power BI Desktop infrastructure update preview feature is enabled but if we disable this feature PBI Desktop launches as expected.

As a temporary workaround, I suggest you to go to the setting to turn off the option “Enable infrastructure update preview feature” to make this issue disappear:

The option was turned on by default I have now turned it off

The same issue still exists after I turned off “Power BI Desktop infrastructure update preview feature”, it seems that it is now a new process that is getting stuck see attached screenshot...
