Power BI connected to SharePoint Online is failing to refresh

I have a  number of SharePoint online lists that are connected to Power BI. Since the latest update, the Desktop version of Power BI can still connect and refresh, however the web version fails to refresh, coming back with "###" column does not exist in the rowset. Different for each dataset, previous to the update it was refreshing fine and i haven't made any changes to the workbooks.

the details for one of them is below.

This issue has already been reported internally to Power BI Team: CRI 37282709

The fix is expected to reach the service this week.

As a workaround, there are two things that can be done to change the query in a way that will help to avoid the problem:

  1. Always use “Remove Other Columns” to keep only the columns that you need. “Remove Columns” doesn’t do it; it has to be “Remove Other Columns”. Failure to do this will mean that the service sees more columns than it expects and the refresh will fail.
  2. Avoid using the SharePoint List column “FieldValuesAsText” as that is specifically broken in the service right now.

Herbert
